New Horizons International Music Association (NHIMA) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to the philosophy of music-making promoted by New Horizons. It undertakes initiatives aimed at supporting the growth and development of New Horizons music organizations.

The New Horizons Community Band began as a movement started by Roy Ernst, a professor at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. The program aims to fulfill the passion for music among many retired men and women who didn't have time to pursue this interest during their working years. The New Horizons movement has been so successful that it has spread across North America, boasting over 170 member bands. These bands are linked online, and many of the member musicians connect when they travel south in winter or go on vacation. Additionally, it offers music workshops where members can travel and learn from some of the finest band leaders in North America.
