Our Band Programs

MONDAY CONCERT BAND 9:15-11:15 AM (Lakeshore Winds) This is our senior concert band, which plays the most challenging music. Musical selections tend to be larger, using greater instrumental range and advanced techniques. We often do medleys, which are several pages long. The pieces make use of more varied key signatures and time signatures. We use Essential Elements 3 for warm-ups and skill development. Sectional rehearsals are arranged as needed to prepare for concerts. This band performs at least twice at the end of each session (6 to 8 performances a year).

WEDNESDAY HARMONY BAND (9:15-11:15 AM) This program is designed for individuals looking to improve their playing skills in a group setting before joining the Harmony Lakeshore Band. It focuses on musical development through shorter compositions that use a limited range of keys and time signatures. We use *Essential Elements Book 2* for warm-ups and skill development. Sectional practices are arranged as needed to prepare for performances. New members typically join this group after completing their first year of playing. Concerts are scheduled once or twice at the end of each session, resulting in four to six high-quality performances per year.

WEDNESDAY 2024-2025 JUNIOR BAND (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM) This is a band for people who would like to improve their skills in playing with a group but are not ready to advance to the music of the Harmony Lakeshore Band. We continue learning with the use of the Essential Elements Book 2 and simple band scores.

ENSEMBLES We currently have an ensemble band called Lakeshore Show Band, comprised of members from Lakeshore Winds. The band is available to perform at seniors' homes, churches, and other special events.
